A child theme layer implemented to safely extend and customize Chatelaine’s base theme without risking update-related overwrites. The child theme preserves the parent theme’s update path while enabling clean overrides for layout, typography, and component styles specific to Chatelaine’s brand requirements. The editorial and design team could apply targeted changes without maintaining a full theme fork or managing conflicts during core updates.
Newsletter Plugin Responsive Upgrades
Newsletter subscription and email capture components updated with responsive media query support for increasingly mobile readership. Compatibility issues resolved and mobile rendering verified across the device and viewport range the readership was using. Delivered within the Rogers enterprise tooling: Git branches, Jira tickets, PhpStorm with Xdebug for local debugging.
