1. powered USB hub
2. USB 3.0
3. sound card directly (no USB hub)
4. hard drive directly (no USB hub)
5. if doinfg something important use only ports that you need in the hub
   (don't use the ports to chatge if you don't need them)
6. spread the hard drives among hubs
